About Gahanna, OH

Gahanna is a city in northeastern Franklin County with roughly 35,700 residents across about 12.6 square miles and the 43230 ZIP code.

John Clark founded it in 1849 along Big Walnut Creek, and the name comes from a Native American word for three creeks joining into one. Gahanna later merged with the neighboring village of Bridgeport.

Businesses began opening in 2007 in Creekside Gahanna, a downtown redevelopment and park extension along the creek, and Central Park of Gahanna occupies a 200-acre site. Gahanna is one of the closest cities to John Glenn Columbus International Airport, with U.S. Route 62, Interstate 670, and Interstate 270 nearby.
