Landscape Lighting That Gives You the Yard Back After Dark
In Ohio the yard goes dark at five for a third of the year. Everything you built is still there and none of it is visible from the kitchen window. Lighting is what returns those evenings. It is also the smallest line on most projects that changes how often the space gets used. The lighting is drawn by the people who designed the space, which is why it is planned around the view rather than around the fixtures.
What the Yard Looks Like at Nine at Night
Start at the kitchen window, because that is where most of the looking happens. A maple lit from below, the house washed so the yard has an edge. Then paths and steps, then the patio, the kitchen, the pool. All on zones you control.

-
Designed from the window in.
The question is what you see from the patio and from inside the house in November, not where fixtures could go. Placement follows that view, which is why good lighting rarely looks evenly spaced.
-
Runs go in with the hardscape.
A line under a patio or through a seating wall costs a fraction during construction compared with cutting it in afterward. On anything still being designed, the lighting sits on the same plan as the surfaces.
-
The system grows with the plantings.
Zones and transformer capacity are set so fixtures can be added and re-aimed as the landscape fills in. A system maxed out on install day is one you cannot adjust in year five.
-
Built for freeze and thaw.
Fixtures, connections, and transformers are specified for Ohio ground rather than for a catalog photograph, and the parts that fail first are chosen to be serviceable rather than sealed in.
How a Lighting Design Comes Together
We walk the property after dark.
Daytime tells you where the fixtures could go. Night tells you what the property actually needs, and which windows the view matters from.
You see the plan and the number together.
Fixture count, zones, controls, and cost, with the option to build in stages if the property is being phased.
Installation, aiming, and adjustment.
Aiming happens after dark, with you there, because a fixture an inch off does not do what it was meant to.
"Work was done as agreed upon and with high quality."

How Exscape Group Operates on Your Property
One person who knows your property.
You get a single point of contact who stays with your account year-round. Not a rotating queue, not a different name on every email.
The crew serving you is based in your market.
Our branches cover Greater Cleveland and Columbus, so the team on your property is local to it. Local presence is how the company was built, not a byproduct of getting bigger.
Every visit gets written down.
After a service visit you hear what the crew saw, whether it was expected or not. Property history lives in one shared system across every branch, not in one person's truck.
We are still here after the install.
When the first fall arrives and you are wondering what to cut back and what to leave, someone answers. The team that builds your space is the team that cares for it.
We will tell you if we are not the right fit.
If your project is smaller, we will tell you plainly rather than take three weeks to not call you back.

Good Questions, Straight Answers
-
Exscape Group prices lighting by fixture count, the transformer and control setup, and how much trenching the property requires. A focused scheme on an entry and a few specimen trees sits at the lower end, while a full-property design covering paths, structures, and outdoor living areas runs considerably higher. Lighting is often built in stages, and the plan is drawn for the whole property even when only part of it is installed now.
-
Exscape Group retrofits lighting onto established properties regularly, and most of a system can go in without disturbing finished surfaces. The exception is a run that has to cross a patio or driveway, which is why lighting goes onto the plan during construction wherever a project is still being designed. The property is walked and the routes agreed before any trenching.
-
Exscape Group specifies fixtures and connections for freeze and thaw rather than for appearance alone, and a well-built system should run for many years with lamp replacement and occasional re-aiming. The parts that fail first are usually connections and transformers, which is why those are specified to be serviceable rather than sealed. Plantings growing into the light are the more common reason a system needs attention.
-
Exscape Group sets up zones and controls so lighting can be scheduled and adjusted rather than run on a single switch. What that looks like depends on the system specified for the property, and the options are explained during design rather than after installation.
