About Blacklick, OH

Blacklick is an unincorporated community in southern Jefferson Township, Franklin County, with the 43004 ZIP code and an elevation of about 955 feet.

William A. Smith established it in 1852 as Smithville, and it was renamed Blacklick because another town already had the name. Blacklick Creek flows through the community, and the post office now sits just south of it on Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road.

Jefferson Cemetery, operated by Jefferson Township, is located here, and Grace Christian School has served K-8 students since 1981. Blacklick has no school district of its own; homes fall in Columbus, Gahanna-Jefferson, Licking Heights, New Albany-Plain, or Reynoldsburg schools. Its mix of established homes and newer development gives property owners a range of landscape projects to plan.
