About Moreland Hills, OH

Moreland Hills is a village in Cuyahoga County, about 7.2 square miles with roughly 3,470 residents, incorporated in 1929 and sharing the 44022 ZIP code with Chagrin Falls.

It borders Hunting Valley and Pepper Pike to the north, Solon and Bentleyville to the south, Chagrin Falls to the east, and Orange to the west. State Route 87 crosses the Chagrin River here, and the South Chagrin Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks runs through the village along the valley.

James A. Garfield was born here in 1831, near SOM Center and Jackson roads, and Abram Garfield Farmsite Park marks the site. Hiram House Camp is also located in the village. Most students attend Orange City Schools, with small areas served by the Chagrin Falls Exempted Village School District. Wooded lots and changes in grade are common, which makes planning around trees and slope part of most projects.
