About Galloway, OH

Galloway is an unincorporated community in southern Prairie Township, Franklin County, just west of Columbus, with the 43119 ZIP code.

It takes its name from Samuel Galloway, a Columbus figure and staunch abolitionist during the Civil War. The community grew up at the intersection of Galloway Road and Sullivant Avenue, where Galloway Road crosses the Camp Chase Railway.

The wider area locals call Galloway is roughly bounded by Interstate 70, Galloway Road, Alkire Road, and Big Darby Creek, and its ZIP code covers much of western Franklin County. Most of the area, including Galloway proper, is served by the South-Western City School District. Low ground near Big Darby Creek makes grading and drainage common projects here.
