Landscaping and Outdoor Living near Chesterland, OH

Chesterland sits a short drive north of Exscape Group’s Novelty headquarters, and the Cleveland East branch knows the wooded lots and rolling ground along State Route 306 well. Commercial properties along the U.S. Route 322 corridor get grounds care and snow removal.

Landscape Design for Wooded and Sloped Lots

Many Chesterland-area properties have mature trees, natural slopes, and long sightlines into the woods.

Design starts with a walk of the property to decide which trees and grades to keep, then sets planting beds, lawn, hardscape, and drainage on one plan. A natural stone waterfall can follow the existing grade where the yard already falls away.

Patios, Steps, and Stone Walls on Rolling Ground

Rolling ground often means the patio, the back door, and the lawn all sit at different heights.

Paver and natural stone patios are built on an excavated, compacted base, and stone walls and terraced steps turn a slope into usable levels for seating, dining, and planting.

Fire Pits Set Among the Trees

A wood-burning fire pit at the edge of a wooded yard suits the setting, and a gas fire pit or outdoor fireplace closer to the house makes a quick fire easy on a weeknight.

Each fire feature is sized to the patio and built in stone that matches the rest of the hardscape.

Outdoor Kitchens and Covered Dining

Grill stations, outdoor bars, and full outdoor kitchens bring cooking onto the patio, with countertops and appliances chosen for outdoor use.

A timber pavilion or pergola over the kitchen keeps the cook and the guests covered.

Custom Pools on Larger Properties

Larger lots give a pool room for a full deck, a spa, and planted screening.

Exscape Group’s pool team designs the pool, and the landscape designers plan the surrounding patio, plantings, and lighting on the same drawing, so the pool settles into the property.

Path and Tree Lighting

Wooded properties go dark early.

Path lights along walkways, step lights on stone stairs, and uplights on mature trees keep the yard usable after sunset and show off the canopy.

Lawn Care and Seasonal Cleanups

Mowing, fertilization, aeration, and overseeding keep turf healthy where shade and tree roots compete with the grass.

Leaf cleanup and bed care handles the heavy fall season, and zoned lawn and bed irrigation keeps water where it is needed.

About Chesterland, OH

Chesterland is a census-designated place at the center of Chester Township in northwestern Geauga County, with roughly 7,070 residents and the 44026 ZIP code.

A post office called Chester Cross Roads opened in 1826, and the name changed to Chesterland in 1898. The township, established in 1816, was once home to Geauga Seminary, which James A. Garfield attended.

The commercial district grows out from the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and State Route 306, and Chesterland is part of the Chagrin Valley area. It sits at an elevation of about 1,210 feet. Students attend the West Geauga School District, shared with Russell Township, including West Geauga High School. Wooded lots and changes in grade make drainage and planting central to most projects here.
